NM-135

The NM135 is a Norwegian variant of the American M-113 armoured personnel carrier (APC), which was used until the introduction of Hägglund's CV9030N in the late 1990s.

The NM-135 mounts a turret containing one 20 x 139 mm Rheinmetall mk20 autocannon, with a rate of fire of 900 rounds/minute. The vehicle also had a coaxial MG3 machinegun, a 71 mm LYRAN mortar for light grenades and 6 launch tubes for smoke grenades. It was first intended to be used as a lightly armoured, self-propelled anti-aircraft weapon system.

Nothe that diameter of a machine gun and autocannon will be only 1mm after printing.

MG03

Just finished MG03 in 1:100 scale. Proportions were exaggerated to make barrel 1mm thick in diameter but the length of a mg is spot on. Gonna make a holder for mg to attach it to the NM-135 turret.

1:100 scale NM-116

In 1972, the Norwegian Army decided to retain 54 of their 123 M24 light tanks as reconnaissance vehicles after they were substantially rebuilt under the designation NM-116. It was calculated that the NM-116 rebuilding program cost only about a third as much as contemporary light tanks.
This program was managed by the firm Thune-Eureka. The American firm NAPCO developed an improved power-pack based around the 6V53T diesel engine used in the M113 armoured personnel carrier mated to an Allison MT-653 transmission. The original 75 mm Gun M6 L/39 was replaced with a French D-925 90 mm low pressure gun, with a co-axial 0.50-inch (12.7 mm) M2 heavy machine gun. The bow gunner position was eliminated in favor of ammunition stowage. A new fire-control system was installed, complete with a Simrad LV3 laser rangefinder. Norwegian firms also converted eight M24 light tanks into light armoured recovery vehicles to support the NM-116. The NM-116 were retired from service in 1993.

GAZ-3937 Vodnik 93% done!

I almost finished Vodnik and I only need to add details to the front and rear areas of a car. The vehicle you can see on a picture above is a troop carrying module variant. It have two holes near the roof hatches to mount 2 machine guns. I also plan to make other version of rear modules like turreted and ambulance.

The main problem I found with modelling this vehicle, is when you try to use Google Images to find photos and blueprints you will find that there are several modifications of a car with difference in hatches shape and position. So I decided to model the most common variant.

GAZ-3937 Vodnik progress report

Added a bit of details just before New Year. I also made rear module separable, so its possible to have different variants of a vehicle.

Preview of 1:100 GAZ-3937 Vodnik (70% done)

Just wanted to Preview 70% done GAZ-3937 Vodnik model that I started modelling before AMX Leclerc. Some parts were exaggerated due to scale requirements.

The car is built on a modular scheme. Welded body includes two removable modules. Front module consists of a power department and management, divided sealed bulkhead.

The rear multi-module due to the quick release coupling can be replaced in the field. In other words, a single chassis can perform several functions, depending on the installed modules:

* transportation of people;
* freight handling and processing equipment in remote areas;
* transportation of residential units and other utilities modules;
* perform the functions of technological machines fuel and energy complex (tankers, containers, etc.).
