Assault landings....Royal Commonwealth Marines......indeedy

I've made a 1:100 scale sci-fi hovercraft!

From ArmiesArmy blog:
////////////////////////////////////////////
Every Marine needs a good Beach Landing Assault vehicle and here is mine. The light assault hovercraft will come in different varieties due to its modular nature, with both a fully enclosed cabin and a open crewed cabin. Further examples will carry heavier weapon loads, APC's , Power Armor Troops and specialized commando raiders .

Nick Kondratov has done a great job of taking my design and modelling it, all whilst starting his new degree (best of luck Nick:))

I have a bunch of releases to get out of the way over the next month and then Ill have bunch of new items off to printing and casting.

thanks

Keith

Bogatyr - heavy tank of Russian Empire

Just finished Bogatyr heavy tank for Armies Army. Bogatyr is an epic hero from Slavic legends, similar to knight-errant.

The Bogatyr is a heavy armored tank of Russian Empire. It has a crew of 3 and armed with heavy gun located in automated unmanned turret + 2 remote controlled machine guns (same type as on Kurganets-40 MGS). Engine is located at front, crew in middle section and auto-loader in rear section. Like modern Israeli Merkava tank, Bogatyr have armored door at rear part of the hull to load the ammunition. By removing some of the ammo it is possible for Bogatyr to carry up to 5 passengers.

Made Kurganets-40 APC for Armies Army :)

Just made Kurganets-40 APC for Russian Empire faction of Armies Army :) This is 3D model suitable for printing and casting in resin and metal.

In the Future Russian Empire faction took Kurganets-25 vehicle and made heavy modification by adding new armor, weapons and systems. APC and MGS variants have fully automated turrets.

Kurganets-25 is a REAL WORLD ultra modern prototype vehicle that is currently in development by Russian Federation to replace BMP fleet somewhere in 2015-2016 . So the idea with Russian Empire design is not to base their vehicles on real world Soviet designs, but on prototype Russian designs. That way RUSK and Russian Empire vehicles will look Russian but different.

All 4 roofs variants are separate and removable.

Started working on 15mm T-18 (MS-1)

Toy soldiers dance party and new ERA on this blog.

I started rebasing my Lead Mountain Army. All my little lead men were so happy about their new shiny bases, so they decide to have a party on my painting table! Some even brought tanks and cars with them to have a ride around the table :) Its nice to see my little guys happy, and from now on I decided to write short stores about them in my future posts like Jay does. I introduced a new "STORY" label, so if you are interested in life of 15mm World inhabitants, just click on this label.

Zulu War Brits are having a friendly firefight with Great War Brits on a lamp, while their fans from different time period are watching. Remember, that toy soldiers cant harm each other and treat all fights like fun games. Battles and skirmishes on wargame tables are their favorite sport.

Ottoman Turks are watching the fight behind barbed wire barrier. Turks want to become the popular army among other toys soldiers, but they need more training.

Riders preparing for a friendly race. They want to show Americans that their lead horses are better than modern cars.

T-34 driver having a chat with giant crab. I am wandering what common topics they have :)

Soldiers, civilians, robots and aliens are dancing!

 M113 gunner and Colonial Security (French Foreign Legionaries painted in blue and grey) are watching Lone Wanderer's Futterwacken dance

Laserburn Vehicles in Resin

Sharing great news from 15mm.co.uk

///////////////////////////////////////////////
Classic Laserburn Vehicles Remastered and in Resin now releasing!

We have a special new and old release today.  Old because it concerns classic Laserburn 15mm scale vehicle models and new because we have withdrawn the original white metal molds and castings and replaced them with high quality resin castings.   Alternative Armies and by extension 15mm.co.uk now has a functioning resin plant which is producing the first two re-mastered Laserburn vehicles as of this week.  We have given ourselves a little round of applause and a pat on the back as its been a wee trek to get to this point but now on with the show!

Here you can see our deep blue tone test castings of the Partizan Wagon, Hover Van and Hover Support Wagon along with a medium lift disc for placing under any of these vehicles.  We use a superior grade of polyurethane resin with a flat grey tone for all production castings.  We will be re-releasing in resin the rest of the re-mastered  Laserburn vehicle range over the coming weeks.  Note there has been a price reduction on these codes due to their new production material and method.

On a different note The Ion Age continues apace with the release of the first of many scupted packs of 15mm Shia Khan Legion infantry.  Yes, you read this correctly Legion infantry which are one of the most requested designs ever on 15mm.co.uk.  So once again it proves that I do listen and react to wargamers suggestions and in this case I kept it a little surprise for The Ion Age.  More information below.

Thanks for Reading!

North Korean vehicles!

Sharing photos of of North Korean tank and APC. I painted these vehicles a mouth ago, and only now I decided to share some photos. Judging from photos and youtube clips of military parades, North Korean vehicle and uniform colour is brownish, so I decided to paint them in Vallejo Brown Violet.

 From 2002 North Korea use Pokpung-ho as its Main Battle Tank, but it still have huge fleet of older Chonma-ho MBT - a modified version of Soviet T-62. Unfortunately, no one make Pokpung-ho in 15mm. So I decide to stick with Chonma-ho in 15mm. I bought 15mm T-62 from QRF and painted it as early version of Chonma-ho. Korean APC in 15mm was also a bit tricky. As its APC, North Korea use VTT-323 and M-2010 (modified VTT-323 with longer chassis and improved optic). But again, no one makes these vehicles in 15mm. The only solution is to buy Chinese Type 62 APC from QRF and use it as very early version of VTT-323, before Koreans added turret and ATGM on it.

To make my North Korean Vehicles more interesting I decided to sculpt some stowage from green-stuff. But in case with VTT-323 I think I sculpted to much stowage :) I also added one wooden ammo box from Plastic Soldier Company 25mm gun battery.

QRF M113 with original gunners head

This is how QRF M113 looks with original gunners head. The head is smaller than Peter Pig modern Marines, so I decided to make a head swap for my other vehicles. But it works OK with Vietnam era Peter Pig Americans, because they have similar head size, and modern era Marines have much bigger heads.
