SHM Range and Litko
I am at the middle of my rebasing progress, and I want to share some results with you :) On the photo above you can see three SHM Range alien creatures: Thing from Abyss, Tentacled Brain Monster and Avarep Cobra. All figures are based on 1.5mm thick Clear Acrylic bases from Litko.
Here you can see Tentacled Brain Monster and Merc with assault rifle from Laserburn range painted in Australian cmouflage. I glued each tentacle to the base using blob of superglue. While glue was wet, I added small amount of sand around tentacles. Merc was based on 15mm wide base and creature on 30mm base.
The same Merc with Avarep Cobra. Looking like a furry Terran snake the Avarep is a dangerous foe indeed. Capable of near flight by coiled jumping, its beak is as hard as iron. Found on many worlds. There are hundreds of Avarep Cobra species, each have its own fur and skin colour.

New SHM Range alien creatures from 15mm.co.uk
Four new alien creatures are available from 15mm.co.uk! They are part of famous SHM Range for aspiring sculptors who do not afraid to experiment. SHM Range its a place a where you can find very weird and unique miniatures. :)
Three of these little creatures are inhabitants of swamps or or prehistoric worlds and the fourth creature came from horror realm :)
SHM58 Mollusca – A small primitive creature with lots of skin folds. 10mm long. This small beast can be used as mollusca, larvae or creature from aqua world or can even be a sand-fish. It may inhabit seabed, sea shores or can live in caves. It may be a herbivore or eat small crabs and shells. Or it attacks the legs of colonists!
SHM59 Swamper - This is creature is from a swamp planet. Its body has a length of 12mm. Swampers have very tasty meat and can be raised as livestock by farmers but they can escape and cause havoc.
SHM60 Armoured Swamper - This is a Swamper subspecies, covered in light scale armour. Body length 10mm. For moving this creature uses its tentacles and muscles on its belly. This is slow creature who eats plants and some small shelled creatures. This creature lives in swamps, and uses its scales for protection from surface creatures. If it is under attack it can dig itself in mud leaving only armoured back above mud level. A Potential foe for colonists.
Here are two Swamper species side by side.
Typical Swamper farm look very close to these rice fields, but with fences, to prevent Swampers from escape.
SHM61 Collective Mind Monster - This is a creature of nightmares lurking in the shadows. Psychic powers and multiple minds sharing one over aweing brain. Controlling a host of drones or the result of radiation and gene wars a real horror! Approx 12mm wide without tentacles.

New 15mm washer!!!!!!

I've been basing my models on 18mm in diameter and 1,2mm height washers from Bunnings Warehouse. But I found that for some models want to use smaller washers. I found 15mm washers and based some of my animals on them, but I wasn't satisfied with final result, because these 15mm washers are very thin, about 0.3mm in height.
But recently I found some new washers Bunnings Warehouse. These washers were sold not in packs but individually and have diameter of 15mm and height of 1mm. So I rebased my Eytaran on new washer.
Now have a look at infantry and cavalry model based on 18mm washer with Eytaran on new 15mm washer! At last they all have same style. If you interested why Rebel Minis marine and Ottoman general have bronze base sides and Eytaran base side painted with Kommando Khaki, here is the answer: I paint base sides of ordinary models with same colour as their bases sand, Unit leaders have blue base sides, squad attachments have red coloured base sides and army commanders have bronze base sides.
For big models I use 31mm washers.
P.S. Yes, I changed flock on Rebel Minis commander, so dont be confused why this model have different base on first and second photo.

The SHM Range on 15mm.co.uk gets Packs!
News from 15mm.co.uk! Quote from Gavin Syme blog
///////////////////////////////////////
SHMP01 Cyborg Enslavers
My ‘metal baby’ is growing up! As of Friday this week 15mm.co.uk will be selling the SHM range miniatures not only as singles but also as packs at 4.00GBP each. Why does this matter you might say? Well it shows the range has now become successful enough to enter the ‘trade’ ranges offered in packs to dealers and stores as well as to wargamers on the website. This is a big thing to me.
The SHM range has currently got more than thirty miniatures in it and soon it will have more than forty from more than five different sculptors and I cannot say this enough…without my support of the SHM concept none of these miniatures would exist in white metal for gamers to get in their collections. So miniatures by rookie and new talents have proven themselves able to support a blister pack range. Round of applause indeed!
While the pack range will contain seven different codes (SHMP01 to SHMP07) all at the same price their contents will vary from ten down to five miniatures as the range is so eclectic that it was impossible to assign a level number of castings to each code. Also they were not designed to be in packs. I am confident though that these packs will prove popular just like the HOF and Laserburn ranges. Several SHM are among the most popular codes we sell.

Eytaran will soon be releases by 15mm.co.uk
Eytaran, my sculpt will be released by http://15mm.co.uk/ :)
Here is the news from Gavin Syme website
/Quoting/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Watch out for the Eyetaran!
Watch out! …there in the undergrowth…what is it…arrgh…no, its the Eyetaran!
Soon to be added to the growing SHM 15mm Range at 15mm.co.uk isSHM23 Eyetaran. This little fellow is a lot of fun and quite an odd ball too.
Designed by Nick Kondratov this miniature stands about 13mm tall and has a furry body, two little feet, long neck and a single eye. Is it dangerous…most likely…I imagine some sort of bio-beam from its eye.
The great thing about the SHM range is that it lets designers get their own ideas into mold and to market. Otherwise miniatures like this, quirky, useful, would never exist except as one off sculpts or concepts.
I am adding a profile for the Eyetaran to USE ME Alien Safari.
Look for this miniature on 15mm.co.uk during February.
