Bornu

Bornu heavy cavalryman from "Irregular Miniatures" Colonial range (link). I made small greenstuff modifications of his helmet, beard and shoulders.

  2. Very nice: great use of the putty to personalize your troops; and thanks for the hard work painting the squares...they look very good.

  4. Great looking HC. I too love that block/check pattern you painted them with. Did the foot spears, foot bows, etc. get anything as colorful, or did you paint them in more of a drab, lower-class, unbleached linen look. Just curious. Would welcome seeing more pics.

    Thanks.

For now I have only this Bornu rider in my collection (as well as 2 archers, 2 musketeers, 2 spearmens from sample order), My archers are white with red hats, bands, quivers. Musketeers have same colors as archers, but recently I found this photo http://britishbattles.homestead.com/files/africa/Bornu_musketeers_and_drummers_1912.jpg , so they should wear some colour stripes on their robes.

If you want, you can find blurry photo of my figures here here http://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/images6/15mmbornu.jpg , but this is really old photo, and recently I rebased them and updated paintjob.
