Royal Marine Light Infantry

Another "Peter Pig" British infantryman painted as Royal Marine Light Infantry.

All three poses from pack "27.British infantry advancing" (http://www.peterpig.co.uk/range22.htm) painted as Royal Marine Light Infantry, British infantryman in khaki, British infantryman in red.

  1. Very nice painting. You make PPigs figures look great (and I am a PPig fan). The fella in the center is my favorite: blends in with the ground! The red-trooper is wearing an target for a jacket!

    1. I love Peter Pig because of the cartoony style. I prefer to paint these minis with very dark shadows and light highlights, to make details of miniature very noticeable and easy to spot from tabletop height. I love PP faces and mouths! The only thing with Peter Pig is their minis are true 15mm and most manufacturers have 16 and 17mm minis, so I make their bases a bit higher.
I am gonna paint 4 units of Redcoats, 2 Highlanders (1 red and 1 khaki unit), 1 rifle, 1 royal marines, 1 khaki infantry unit and 3 indian sepoy unit in khaki (using Peter Pig indian heads on british infantryman bodies)

    2. The head swap is great idea: another faction for the price of a head!

    3. The idea of selling separate heads (16 in a pack) is amazing idea. I love Peter Pig Brits but they dont have Sepoy and I dont want to buy Sepoy from other manufacturer, because I want all my British army to be in same sculpting style. So I can made very easy and cheap conversion!
I ordered Peter Pig Egyptians from Sudan Range to use them as Ottoman Empire troops from Victorian Era. But Peter Pig dont have Egyptian cavalry to be used as ottoman cavalry. So I buy british cavalry and make headswap, because PP have separate heads in fez.

  2. You're making me reconsider my 15mm British choices.

    1. What manufacturer did you use for British troops?
I used Minifing before but after watching 28mm GASLIGHT games on forums, and 28mm colonials where each mini have different pose and personality, I decided to switch manufacturer. Peter Pig was my choice after month of research.
Their mini have 3 poses per pack (and you can use minis from different packs in one unit, like 3 advancing, 3 standing, 2 firing, officer, standart bearer, and you can have 10 man unit with 10 unique sculpts), their minis have cartoony style, so if you paint them with dark shadowns and light highlights they will look from tabletop height (if you are SITING at the table) close to 28mm minis (if you are STANDING near table).
Dont have any Old Glory, but I know they also have multiple poses per pack. I am gonna buy their Japanese, Chinese, Zulu and some of Boxer Rebellion units.
